Foundation of the Company by Georg Karl sen. in Bechhofen. Manufacturing of brushes for various applications
1960
Production of first brushes for cosmetic applications e.g. brushes for nail polish and mascara. The Company gains first experience in the area of plastic moulding.
1970
Establishment of the UK subsidiary GEKA increasingly focuses on plastic moulding and mascara.
1971
Acquisition of VICTORIA.
1973
Interdental brushes are added to the product portfolio.
1980
GEKA focuses on complete packaging and application systems for liquid color cosmetics.
1983
Introduction of the Building Block System.
1990
Change from manufacturing specialist to development partner to supply chain partner; focusing on the Top 20 cosmetic houses worldwide.
1999
Halder and the management team acquire 100% of the Company‘s shares.
2003
The two production sites of Bechhofen and Waizendorf are merged into the new building at Waizendorf. Extension of sales activities in the US.
2004
Equita and the management team acquire 100% of the company in a secondary Buy-Out. Cooperation agreement with Team Technologies in Tennessee, USA.
2005/2006
Start of manufacturing and supply of moulded mascara brushes. Long-term supply agreements with major cosmetic customers. Capacity expansion due to strong demand for moulded brushes. Development and launch of 1 K brushes.
2007
Successful launch of our 1 K brushes on the market and parallel presentation of our disc brushes.
2008/2009
Build-up of a new production facility in Elgin, Chicago. Name change of our US sales office from former GEKA-Toly USA Corp. to GEKA USA Corporation. Opening of a new sales office in Paris.
